You'll sit next to real Web3 founders, learn Solidity from scratch, deploy smart contracts on testnets, and build a working DeFi application. Your final pitch goes to actual blockchain VCs and Ethereum core contributors who frequent the space.
Build on Floor 12 — our San Francisco campus Ethereum House. Deploy smart contracts, build a working DeFi prototype, and pitch it to Web3 founders. The same floor where Ethereum's creator has been spotted coding.
Who it is for
High school, secondary school students & undergraduates. Basic JavaScript/HTML helpful. No blockchain experience required.
Weekly plan
Week 1: Blockchain Fundamentals & First Contract
- Understand blockchain architecture with Ethereum House residents
- Set up MetaMask, get testnet ETH, and write your first Solidity contract
- Learn data types, functions, modifiers, and deploy to Sepolia testnet
- Meet Web3 founders working on Floor 12 and learn about their projects
Week 2: DApp Development
- Connect a React frontend to your smart contract using ethers.js
- Build a token swap interface with real-time blockchain reads/writes
- Design token economics for your protocol with a founder mentor
- Create and deploy an ERC-721 NFT contract
Week 3: DeFi Protocol & Security
- Build a basic lending protocol with interest rate logic
- Learn smart contract security — reentrancy, overflow, access control
- Write unit tests with Hardhat and conduct a code audit
- Workshop with Ethereum House residents on gas optimization
Week 4: Ship & Pitch
- Polish your DApp UI, fix edge cases, and deploy final contracts
- Build a 5-minute investor pitch deck for your protocol
- Present to Web3 VCs, Ethereum core contributors, and founders
- Receive verified Proof-of-Work credential and recommendation
